The Palmer Park WSU Woods and Wetlands Field Laboratory is located at the Detroit Exploration and Nature (DEN) Center of Palmer Park.  The laboratory supports studies of woodland habitat, vernal pools and other wetland features of the park, including research on aquatic, terrestrial and aerial organisms. The park's natural areas allow investigations of biodiversity, disease vectors, invasive species, and groundwater and surface water geology and engineering, with an emphasis on conservation and education.
